Naturbad im Bayerischen Wald

Naturbad im Schlosspark - Oberer Bayerischer Wald

In July 2006, a modern natural swimming pool was opened in the renatured historical castle park, a beautiful ambience. It is a multifunctional bathing and leisure complex that offers our holidaymakers and the local population an attractive leisure and recreational offer all year round.

With conventional bathing facilities, water treatment is chlorine based. In our natural bath the water is biologically treated by means of a plant filter. What this means is best appreciated by those of us who suffer from chlorine-allergies or quickly reddening, sensitive eyes.

A natural swimming pool works according to ecological processes. It adopts the biological self-purifying powers of natural waters as its own. This requires two areas. One part is for use and is thus the bathing area. The regeneration area was constructed separately from it. Here the water is recycled again. A special side effect of regeneration ponds is the plant growth.

Naturpark im Bayerischen Wald

It is varied and colourful in its variety and thus contributes significantly to the improvement of the bathroom environment. The design of the natural swimming pool is so discreet that the entire complex blends harmoniously into the historic park area.

But sunbathing area, play areas, water areas for non-swimmers, swimmers and toddlers are shown to their full advantage. The heating of the water to bathing temperatures is relatively fast. Due to the large water surfaces, the water temperature is usually 3 to 4 degrees higher than that of the lakes in the surrounding area.
